It's starting to warm up and summer is knocking on the door. Time for another monthly report!
The last two months have been a blur with activity on the music front. However, May especially saw significant gains as we've just about wrapped up music development and have been putting the music into engine.
Currently, we're completely back on track with our original schedule this year. Both Remi and Zeph have made some truly exceptional tracks and we're looking forward to getting some teasers going for our big anniversary event in July.
As it stands right now, Zeph is working on potentially the last song. Why we say potentially is because we're accessing as we go and there is a few more possible ones that we're considering. What makes us consider skipping them is the fact that they aren't major songs. They would be played in the branching after story parts and the segments wouldn't be that huge.
We do have some possible options for replacing them but we won't completely know until they are in engine and see if things mesh well. We've already found two adjustments that required some reworking and a new song, just from our initial work.
As far as UI elements, we're happy to announce that Remi is going to be helping on the sound effects side of them. After that it's just bringing on a new UI artist to help bring our current ideas together. All in all, this will likely be our summer task along with initial alpha testing. Given preview results have been good, we're getting closer to solidifying a release date.
Lastly, and it is sad to report this but, our Dust and Air unit is looking at needing an overhaul as we've not been able to reach Georgy for some time. Our last contact was not great as he was dealing with some real life troubles and work in Italy. We hope he's okay but, until he contacts, we won't know.
What this means is we're going to have to bring in some new talent with a new direction for the project. Which may be a good thing as we take what we've learned on The Father's Story and apply it to get it done faster.
Alright, that's it for the month of May. Back to music development and engine work for June! Thanks for following, we'll see you in the skies!
