Once more we meet again. Time to wrap up the month and move on to September!
Achievements work! That's the big news for the month as we spent a bit of time resolving them. In the end, it took help from Gemini and Grok to get all the code right and resolve some pesky bugs that kept cropping up.
This is actually a pretty huge deal as we wanted to add them to Dust and Air but we just never could get them working right. Thanks to AI, it helped resolve a task that would have taken much longer to figure out even if we hired a programmer just to do this.
Why did it take us two AIs to figure it out? Well, Grok was helpful in getting the initial code designed but Gemini did the heavy lifting in troubleshooting why it didn't work. Then when Gemini got confused and couldn't figure it out, we tossed the code back to Grok and it figured out what needed to be done. So, overall, AI is not foolproof but, it's better than nothing.
With this major milestone done, we're currently updating store page assets and prepping the app for a major test through Steamworks. This will also include a MacOS version which we hope we can at least test without notarization but, we will be throwing those issues to Grok and Gemini if they come up since the only reason we never got a full signed Mac release of Dust and Air is because of Apple's dumb redundant hit or miss system when it comes to MacOS apps. iOS is a different story on that end.
The decision for the release window is likely going to be made in the month of September but right now we're projecting an early December release. Part because the Steam sale schedule is a bit crowded going into the end of the year. We'd like The Father's Story to get a launch window between, not during, the sales. During all this, we're taking some stock and doing some looks at how we're going to adjust Dust and Air going forward. The Tyrano community has become healthier since the Russian group started fixing the engine and after how poorly treated we were by Naninovel's developer, we're not super keen on porting it to Unity like we were planning. We may just be in an,"It is what it is," kind of moment.
Alright, that's all for us for this month. Thanks for following and we'll see you in the skies!
